Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Pediatric Neurosurgery to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform professional medical functions; including but not limited to providing on-site coverage in the Operating Room; Emergency room, Patient Wards and Clinic.
  • Direct patient care.
  • Supervision, Teaching and guidance of staff and other members of the neurosurgical team.
  • Attend weekly staff conferences i.e. Grand Rounds, Quality Assurance meetings, M&M conference and departmental meetings for staff.
  • Timely completion of Medical Records, Operative Dictation Reports and Quality Improvement documentation.
  • Assist in the maintenance of standard of performance of physicians and of other professional employees working in the service.
  • Performs related work as required or as directed by the Chief of Service.
  • Attend Director of Service meeting, Critical Care meetings, etc.
  • Provide Neurosurgery Clinic coverage as mandated.
  • Oversee all research projects.

Qualifications

-Current licensed NYS registration certificate
-Board Eligible
-Graduated from an approved Medical School
-Completion of approved residency in Neurosurgery
