Responsibilities:

   

Under the direction of Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Director leads the creation and deployment of the organization’s Talent Management strategy. Identifies best practices for recruitment/retention initiatives and incorporates them into day to day processes and long term efforts. Oversees a recruitment staff that includes external consultants, all tasked with consistently exceeding the service expectations of internal stakeholders. Assists stakeholders by performing needs analyses, drafting recruitment strategies, creation of job descriptions, monitoring metrics regarding recruitment efforts. In addition to talent management functions, the HR Director will advise management and staff on company policies and procedures, provide support for management and staff in addressing employee & labor relations matters, disciplinary actions, grievances, interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, and union negotiations. Partners with Legal Counsel as needed. 

 

Individual duties may include: 

  • Support stakeholders with sourcing and selecting qualified internal and external candidates to fill workforce needs, while supporting the company's Affirmative Action Plan.
    • Oversees the sourcing, screening, and onboarding of executive-level staff as deemed necessary by Senior HR Leadership.
  •  Assures that the long term and immediate human capital needs of the organization are met. Manages recruitment staff by establishing performance goals and measuring against said goals.
  •  Oversees recruitment budget; develops and reports on quality and business metrics such as time to fill, turnover/retention, etc.
  •  Write human resources policies and procedures; applies employee and labor relations expertise to all Human Resources processes and advises management and staff at all levels regarding appropriate legal and contractual requirements when necessary.
  •  Deliver in-service training programs for management and supervisory staff either directly or through subordinates on Labor/Employee Relations issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources management, labor relations, business administration or related area; Master’s preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an employment service operation, communication and leadership skills.
  • Applicant Tracking System experience; iCims, Taleo, Peoplesoft, etc.
    • HRIS experience (ADP) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years progressive experience as a generalist in human resources with an emphasis in staffing and labor relations.     
  • Proven knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations such as FLSA, among others.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Windows environment, and MS Office software.
