    In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi our teams accommodate more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care.     Responsibilities

    We are currently accepting applications for a full-time (40hr) Psychiatrist in our CPEP.   

    The Attending Psychiatrist is responsible for the provision of cutting edge, comprehensive evidence-based psychiatric care to patients who present to the CPEP. 

    An academic appointment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is offered.

     

    • Supervision of nurses, social workers, physician’s assistants, students, and others participating in the care of patients
    • Completion of comprehensive assessments and treatment plans
    • Initiation of treatment for acute and chronic psychiatric and medical illnesses
    • Coordination of disposition planning in conjunction with Social Work and Physician Assistant staff
    • Documentation of incidents in conjunction with other members of the treatment team
    • Distribution of work among physicians and other treatment team members

    Qualifications

    • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York
    • Board certified in Adult Psychiatry (or Board Eligible if within 5 years of completing residency training)
    • Ability to make sound and timely triage, treatment, and disposition decisions
    • Ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines in the evaluation and care of patients

     

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Previous psychiatric ER or CPEP experience
    • Superior clinical, diagnosis, crisis management, interpersonal/communication and team building skills.
