Harlem Hospital Center provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and family support services. The hospital is a 286 bed acute care facility and a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full spectrum of specialty services, including a burn unit, an adult intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a cardiac care unit.


Currently recruiting for a part time( .6 FTE) Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.


Under the direction of the Clinical Mental Health Director of the Family Care Center (FCC) program, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide direct mental health services including:

  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Psychiatric management
  • Pharmacologic treatment to patients in the pediatrics and adult HIV programs
  • Will attend weekly interdisciplinary care coordination meetings
  • Collaborate with primary medical providers and mental health providers for treatment planning
  • Will ensure that all services completed are appropriately documented in a timely manner



Preferred Qualifications:


Two to three years of experience working in Psychiatry desired.


Required Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree
  • Current New York State NP and RN license
  • DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) registration number
  • Certification as NP by an approved certifying organization, and must have completed the National American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Certification examination for Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
