    • Our Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care is one of the country’s premier programs in Palliative Care, with both inpatient services and outpatient services. In 2009, the department instituted a fellowship in palliative care, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).


    • Assist patients in controlling their pain and symptoms to allow them to be as comfortable as possible. Palliative care takes into account the preferences, beliefs, culture, and values of patients, their families and their care providers.


    • Palliative Care team includes, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and religious and spiritual professionals.


    • With an expert team of three physicians, a research nurse, several social workers, chaplains, psychologists and hospital administrators, the center will focus on improving the quality of life for people who suffer from long-term chronic pain and other distressing symptoms due to cancer, sickle cell anemia, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, congestive heart failure, advanced dementia and other diseases


    • The newer center is designed to provide an environment of dignity and comfort, and will serve patients who are hospitalized as well as those treated on an outpatient basis.


    • Attending must be BE/BC in Palliative Care
    • NYS license in good standing
