    Harlem Hospital Center provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and family support services. The hospital is a 286 bed acute care facility and a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full spectrum of specialty services, including a burn unit, an adult intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, stroke and a cardiac care unit.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    We are currently recruiting for a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to work in Harlem Hospitals Pediatric Emergency Department. Harlem Hospital Center is a 285 bed level I trauma center and academic affiliate of Columbia University – where a faculty appointment awaits you!  The Department of Pediatrics is a growing and dynamic department with many opportunities for creative, energetic individuals. There are many avenues for career development and administrative participation.

    Our Pediatric Emergency Department cares for approximately 22,000 patients annually. Physician Assistant’s (PAs) are also present on all overnight shifts.

    PED division members supervise and teach Pediatric Residents, PA students, and Medical Students.  Participation in research, teaching and administrative activities will be part of this position. PEM faculty members maintain an excellent rapport with General ED faculty - many of whom also cover PED shifts.

    Our 15+ bed PED is located in a separate area from the general ED in a child-friendly environment with dedicated PED nurses and support staff. Child Life services are available in the hospital.

    Qualifications

    • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
    • Graduation from a medical school approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association
    • Completion of an accreptable internship in an approved hospital
    • A license to practice medicine in the State of New York
