At NYC Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services, there are a total of over 800 active 1199-represented employees – Of the licensed individuals, there are a number of positions for which step increases are applied individually for each incumbent based upon their total amount of industry experience. As their years of service goes increases, so does their hourly rate. This is in addition to the across-the-board increases that is applied to the 1199 membership on an annual basis. Complexity also rests in the manual administration of the hiring rate, probationary rate and year-end rate for all 25 1199-represented titles at CHS.
The project consists of auditing, adjusting and automating:
Audit – To review each individual’s years of service as per original license date compared to the hourly rate being earned.
Adjust – To retroactively adjust each individuals hourly rate to the correct rate to 1/1/2016, or the respective date within 2016. Partner with CHS and 1199 on all adjustments.
Automate – Enter the license dates/years of industry experience into ADP, build step-system for increases in ADP, and continually audit periodically.
Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of progressively responsible compensation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
