The Department of Emergency Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and its sister institution, North Central Bronx Hospital is undergoing an era of expansion and growth. The Department is seeking highly motivated academic Emergency Physicians to join our dynamic faculty. Affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi is one of the premiere Emergency Medicine residency training programs in the country. The Residency Program has 84 Emergency Medicine residents (21 per year).
Jacobi Medical Center provides excellent health care to an urban population; it is an active Level 1 trauma center, a regional burn center, a regional snake-bite center, and the site of a multi-person hyperbaric treatment facility. The hyperbaric and snake-bite programs are run by Emergency Medicine. The Department has active programs in ultrasound, simulation, education and research and is looking to recruit faculty with these subspecialty niches and others.
The Adult Emergency Departments of Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital have over 100,000 annual patient visits. Our state of the art facilities have multiple dedicated trauma and resuscitation areas for critically ill patients. We also have dedicated treatment areas for the care of asthma patients, obstetrical and gynecologic emergencies as well as an urgent care center embedded in the Jacobi Emergency Department.
The Jacobi Emergency Department has 50 acute care rooms patient rooms with telemetry monitoring. North Central Bronx has 18 acute care rooms with telemetry monitoring also with dedicated gynecologic/obstetrical emergency and asthma treatment areas.
Medical Degree, Board eligible or Board Certified.
Must qualify for NY State Medical License.
