NYC Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services is responsible for the delivery of medical and behavioral health care, social work services, discharge planning and reentry services 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. NYC Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services is a national leader in the delivery of health care to the justice-involved population and works continuously to improve access to, and quality and continuity of, care within the jail system.
NYC Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services conducts a comprehensive medical and mental health assessment for every patient at the point of admission, offers robust screening for infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis C, STDs, TB, etc.) and helps with the management of chronic and acute conditions. CHS is committed to improving the quality and continuity of care provided to its patients both during and after incarceration, and to the population health of the communities to which our patients return.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and the Mental Health Unit Chief, will provide quality mental health care to the population of the New York City Department of Corrections at BKDC. This position is responsible for providing assessment and counseling services to inmates. This position is for RMSC, the hours for the position are: Tuesday thru Saturday, 4 p.m. to midnight.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
License: New York State License in Social Work, License in Mental Health Counseling, or licensure in Psychology.
