NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan Hospital is a full-service, acute care hospital emphasizing primary care medicine and utilizing the latest advances in medical science. Metropolitan Hospital Center was the first hospital in East Harlem to be designated by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) as an official Stroke Center. Metropolitan prides itself on delivering culturally-sensitive, compassionate, appropriate and affordable medical care to the diverse neighborhoods of northern Manhattan.

 

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Director of Service and Attending Physicians, PAs perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Specialty clinics are the primary responsibility of PAs
  • Clinics covered : General surgery, ENT surgery, Vascular surgery, Hand and Plastic surgery, Thoracic surgery, Spine surgery and Breast surgery
  • Clinics are Monday-Friday
  • Satellite clinics covered: Morrisania, Belvis and Renaissance Diagnostic Treatment Centers
  • SICU coverage  for Monday, Thursday, and Friday
  • PAs have a consistent presence with attending physicians , administration, nursing and patients
  • Peri-operative care with Residents and with Medical Students when required
  • NEW GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.  We are willing to train

Qualifications

  • Current New York State license and registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences or related field
  • Graduation and accreditation from a 2 year Physician Assistant program
