    In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi our teams handle more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility.

    Responsibilities

    The Jacobi Medical Center Academic Hospitalist of the Division of Hospital Medicine provides the full scope of adult in patient services which fall under his/her field of training including but not limited to:

    • Diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care and health maintenance to adult and limited groups of adolescent patients efficiently and effectively.
    • Trains and supervises medical trainees and students and mid-level providers in the scope of adult hospital medicine.  The scope of services includes, hospital medicine, geriatrics, medical consultation, palliative care, and selected outpatient care to support the overall mission of the Medical Center and Department of Medicine to address the needs of the population served.

    Qualifications

    • Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine.  If Board eligible at time of hire, must be board certified within 3 years of hire date.
    • Current DEA registration
    • Current BLS or advanced CPR certification
    • Current NYS license
