Medical Director- Ambulatory Service

In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi our teams accommodate more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

The Medical Director is responsible for directing

the staff and programs of the Ambulatory Services Department.  Develops policies and procedures for the delivery of patient care in accordance with the accepted standards of care.

Direct Responsibilities:

• Oversees, administers and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics in multiple departments
• Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for Ambulatory Services and programs.
• Maintains working relationships with community agencies.
• Ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards.
• Reports to CEO/COO and CMO along with system Ambulatory Care leadership.
• Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area responsibility for developing the budget.

• Medical degree in a primary care specialty
• Licensed to practice in New York State
• Completion of Approved GME Residency Training Program
• Experience in the field of specialty
• Board certified in a Medical Specialty

*Applicant should have attained recognition in the specialty as evidenced by active involvement with academic professional societies, publications in referenced professional journals and formal presentations at academic meetings
