    In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi our teams accommodate more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

    Responsibilities

    Provider will also work as a clinician in OB\GYN. Position is split 50/50 between Simulation Center and OB\GYN.

     

    Reporting to the Director of the New York City Health + Hospitals Simulation Center, the Simulation Educator is responsible for;

    • Assisting with the development of OB simulation courses and course delivery
    • Assisting with the development and maintenance of OB course content with facility champions, physicians and nurses, and in response to the training needs identified by NYC Health + Hospitals Leadership
    • Work with the Simulation Center Education Manager to ensure that course content promotes evidence based practice and that curriculum provides a vehicle for communicating and spreading clinical standards, patient safety culture and Team STEPPS communication platform.
    • Apply simulation as appropriate to new initiatives or mandates within the health system as directed by the Simulation Center Director
    • Collaborate with the NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Chief Quality Officer, clinical leadership, department heads, line staff, and other stakeholders to establish high-quality sustainable simulation programs
    • Assist the Simulation Center Director of Operations and Education Manager, to interview, screen and select instructors and fellows who meet the standards of educational instruction for the simulation center.
    • Ensure quality standards for course delivery are upheld for staff teaching simulation courses

     

    Qualifications

    • Education degree or working towards preferred
    • 2 years’ experience in a simulation or a strong desire to learn simulation techniques
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive internal and external relationships
    • Experience with competency evaluation assessment, design checklists and/or global assessment tools preferred
