Overview

Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital is academically affiliated with SUNY Downstate Medical Center. 

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient Gastrointestinal care
  • Participate in the advanced endoscopy consultation service.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with pancreaticobiliary diseases, as well as general gastroenterological care.
  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including but not limited to Endoscopic Ultrasound, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography, Deep Enteroscopy, Endoluminal Stenting, Complex Polypectomy, and Endobariatrics;
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic Upper Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and/or Push Enteroscopy (with or without biopsies, polypectomy, control of bleeding, ligation of varices, removal of foreign bodies, dilation, stenting, etc.).
  • Perform and interpret capsule endoscopy, pH/impedance, and manometry studies.
  • Supervise and mentor gastroenterology fellows and medicine residents assigned to the gastroenterology and hepatology service.
  • Provide weekend and evening call coverage for gastroenterology services at H+H/Kings County and SUNY Downstate Medical Cente
  • Academic appointment at SUNY Downstate Medical Center

Qualifications

  • Current licensed NY State registration (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Graduate from approved Medical School

Annual Salary $334,750.00
