Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding three (3) Anesthesiologists to the group at Jacobi Medical Center/North Central Bronx Hospital. The Hospitals are part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds.  

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards

Responsibilities

  • Determines and prescribes kinds of anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases.
  • Advises Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of patient presents unusual or complex problems.
  • Recommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages and consults on post-operative complications.
  • Reviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology.
  • Attends clinical conferences. 
  • Performs related work as required.
  • 40 hour work week with no embeded call
  • Ability to make more compensation by picking up call/addtional hours for coverage 

Jacobi Overview:

up to 6000 cases per year and 2000 deliveries

Calls are paid extra per hour and are about 4 to 5 per month in house

Daily resident coverage is about 1:1. Ob coverage is 1 attending 1 CRNA 24/7.  OR call is with residents or CRNA

Qualifications

  • Graduation from medical school of recognized standing with the degree of Doctor of Medicine with a NYS License
  • Completion of an acceptable residency training in an approved program.
  • Experience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred but not required.
  • Additional Fellowship training is welcome.

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $390,000 (board eligible) - $400,000 (board certified), with additional compensation for calls and sessional coverage.
